Why should creating an event be such an event?

Create events and reminders in speed of thought with natural language! Youll be amazed how much quicker you can create events. Some examples:

✎ "Dinner at 6"
✎ "Pick up Joe tomorrow at LAX at 8pm"
✎ "Cycling class @6 for 1.5h"
✎ "Next Tuesday Jogging in the Park @8a for 90 min"

Just type for a few seconds or dictate your event - QuickCal will know what you want. As you type, QuickCal will show you what it is thinking.

You can also use a bunch of common shortforms for e.g. weekdays or month to save time while typing.

If you use multiple calendars you can easily tap on the calendar name in the title bar to switch to the next calendar. Or choose a specific calendar by typing a portion of its name.

In addition to this, QuickCal supports "Smart Reminders", which will create alarms at configurable time intervals, specific to how far in the future the event is. A meeting tomorrow? Reminder 15 min in advance. A meeting in 6 months? Remind a few _days_ in advance.
You can configure details in the settings.

QuickCal also provides a convenient view of upcoming events; pinch/zoom to provide different levels of detail on your calendar entries.
***You can even create an event for a specific day while scrolling through the list view or in month view with a long tap on a date.***

Enjoy a much easier and quicker way to manage your events!

Some useful hints:

QuickCal is very flexible. There is no fixed syntax. Most things should be intuitive. However there are few hints you wont find out right away.

☛ If you want to keep QuickCal from parsing words or numbers you type use quotes e.g. "Run 10 Miles"
☛ If a location is followed by a description you need to use ":" as a delimiter
☛ QuickCal has also some custom URI goodness for apps like Launch Center Pro. You can use one of these to launch QuickCal to a certain view: "quickcal://new", "quickcal://list" or "quickcal://month".

Pros and cons of QuickCal - The natural language calendar for iOS app for iPhone and iPad

QuickCal - The natural language calendar for iOS app good for

Beautiful. Dont like that every event is planed as a full day!
The best way to create an appointment in seconds!!! A must have! Yet, some bugs remain, especially one that displaces meetings by one day...
Very useful and well designed user Interface. Hope they keep up future updates. Recommended.
A very good companion to the Mac version. Thanks guys. A todo sync would be unbelievable. Maybe with os5. Great app.
Very good helper. Much easier workflow when creating new events. Why is there no German version ( like in the desktop app)?
Really great app! Makes creating calendar events so much quicker. Also works with 24h time format. German version would be nice, though. Hence only 4 stars.

Some bad moments

Not faster than the iPhone calendar, doesnt sync with Google cal, cannot have more than 3 calendars, unable to customize colors for different activities.
I agree its a great app but they need to speed up the load time. What good is it to have fast entry for a calendar item if it takes longer for the app to load?
Took me awhile to figure out but love it once I got the hang of it.
Very intuitive to add calendar items in one single short hand entry. Really like the automagic one click to join an audio conference. Would like to see a feature to forward calendar items to others.
I am astonished that this seems to be the only app with this far superior, faster, easier, data entry. If Apple had any brains left they would add this natural language entry to iCal asap! But 4 stars only, because startup is slow, editing is prehistoric, still no ipad version, only portrait mode, no update for a long time, etc. Developer, are you listening? We love your app and use it all the time - but this also means that every day we use it we wish it was even better!... TIA for the next version!
* Creating events works very well. * It should be faster. * It could look better (the entry screen, the list of events and the monthly view).
